Finally!

My Pelikan bookwork is finally ready! Digitally printed on 250 gsm Profimatt paper stock, A4 size ( 210 x 297 mm), bone folded and hand stitched by myself, then finished by a bookbinder:

The original dummy was shortlisted for the 2012 International Fotobook Festival and subsequently shown at Le Bal, Paris, and f-stop Festival, Leipzig. It was also selected for Photobookshow D in Helsinki and shortlisted for the Unpublished Dummy Award at Unseen Photo Festival, Amsterdam.

Thanks again to Markus Schaden for suggesting the unique folding structure and to Harvey Benge and to Wolfgang Zurborn for help with editing and sequencing!

100 copies, signed and numbered. € 23 plus shipping (€ 2 Germany, € 4 International). E-mail me at g.harhoff(at)gmail.com if you’re interested.

Back from Paris

I’m back from this year’s International Fotobook Festival in Paris. I did not win one of the prizes for my book dummy, but I did not expect to do so. I am just very very happy that my dummy was nominated for the shortlist, and that I was allowed to show it in Paris. This was my first time at the festival, and I am glad I went. For me one of the highlights was Tood Hido’s talk about his influences, his process and his forthcoming new book.

Here are some pictures I took while in Paris:

Waiting

This image was made last Sunday while waiting on a somewhat delayed plane at Charles de Gaulle Airport to get back to Hamburg.
