I am very happy that after being shortlisted for this year’s Dummy Award of the 5th International Fotobook Festival my “Pelikan” book has now been selected by Photobookshow to be shown at Book Show D hosted by the Finnish Museum of Photography in Helsinki from August 31 till September 2!
See a short video of the book here:
Before the festival opening.
The exhibition space we have in Leipzig is wonderful. Yesterday we painted the walls, today I did the framing. I am not really satisfied with my prints (some of them have minor irregularities close to the bottom), but I guess I have to live with that for now.
I am very happy to announce that the shortlistet dummies from this year’s International Fotobook Festival – among them my “Pelikan” bookwork – will travel to Leipzig for f-stop, the 5th Festival for Photography from June 23 till July 1.
Again, if you’re interested, here is a short video of the book:
The winning book “Passengers” of this year’s dummy award has now been published. During a 4 month stay in wintery Poland photographers Dagmar Keller and Martin Wittwer (congratulations to both!) discovered a bus station where passengers where waiting for numerous regional busses. See the whole book HERE.
At the suggestion of Markus Schaden I made a booklet out of my Pelikan series using a rather complicated (for me) folding structure. As a result you can create your own 3-image-spreads. At first I was afraid that this might be nothing but a gimmick, but it actually works quite well. Don’t ask me how many pages I wasted printing! You get an idea how it works in this short video:
Today I sent the book (my only copy!) off to Kassel for the Fotobook Festival Dummy Award 2012.
